A draft program and a full list of abstracts are now available.

Papers within the range of concerns addressed by the Law and Literature Association of Australia are welcome. The conference organisers particularly seek papers addressing the theme of passages – addressing movements of voyage and migration, tradition and translation, appropriation and transformation, right and ritual, border crossing and transgression, surveillance and forgetting, territory and terror, verdict and sentence, enactment and performance. In sum, the conference is an invitation to address question of politics and aesthetics, life and law.

The conference will have both refereed and non-refereed contributions.

• For refereed contributions, full papers must be submitted with your abstract by 8 May 2006. The process will meet DEST requirements for fully refereed conference papers (publication category E1). Refereed papers will be published online at the CMCL – Centre for Media and Communications Law.
• If you prefer to offer a non-refereed paper, submit only your abstract by 8 May 2006.
