This article examines the outcome of the Thai constitutional reforms of 1997. It outlines the most important provisions of the new Constitution and the most significant events in the implementation process. It evaluates the new constitutional arrangements and their chances of successful entrenchment in the political system and political culture of contemporary Thailand.
