LLB Student SupportLanguage and Academic Skills SupportThe Law School offers a range of programs and resources to help you develop the academic skills needed for successful study in law. Online resources include:
Short courses on academic skills and individual consultations with the Language and Learning Adviser in Law are also available. Student Welfare Officer, Equity and DiversityThe Law School has a Student Welfare Officer available to listen to any worries or concerns individual students may have in an informal, confidential environment. If you are having problems with your studies or experiencing personal difficulties and would like to talk to someone, make an appointment to see the Student Welfare Officer. The Student Welfare Officer will discuss your concerns with you and can advise on relevant Law School/University policies and refer you to other University services if appropriate. The Law School Student Welfare, Equity and Diversity Officer is Vicky Marshall. Her office is located in the Melbourne Law School Student Centre. She can be contacted on 8344 4475 or by email to v.marshall@unimelb.edu.au. Appointments can be made through the Student Centre. Subject LecturersLecturers can be contacted out of class to discuss subject content. Most lecturers post their ‘open office’ hours on the subject website. Or email your lecturer to arrange a suitable time to meet. Melbourne Law School Student CentreThe Student Centre handles all applications for stream changes, extensions of time on assessment and special consideration. You can also talk to a course adviser in the Student Centre about changing and selecting subjects, or varying your course plan.
