Introduction

For the first time since its early career, Melbourne Law School is housed in one impressive location at University Square. The University Square building represents a tremendous opportunity to provide Law School students and staff with first class, purpose-built facilities of international standard.

The building facilities ensure the Law School can take advantage of emerging global opportunities in legal education.

The Law School aims to give students a legal education which allows them to work successfully anywhere in the world-our facilities make a significant step towards realising that objective. People from all over the world come to the Law School to study or to teach on various projects, such as the Exchange Programs. Our facilities allow Law to significantly expand its programs and to provide people with a flexible and more creative working environment.

Designed exclusively for teaching legal education, the law building offers specialist lecture theatres, seminar rooms and meeting rooms for different methods of teaching, study areas with computer access points and spacious offices for staff with the latest in technology. This is also an opportunity to enhance the availability of its unique assets, such as the Law Library collection, which is housed in the Legal Resource Centre. With ample space to meet present needs, the building provides maximum flexibility for future development and growth in teaching and research, further strengthening the learning opportunities for law students.
