Dato Ambiga Sreenevasan was one of 1,700 people arrested in 2011 at one of Malaysia’s largest political demonstrations in decades. The former president of the Malaysian Bar Council heads the Coalition for Clean and Fair Elections, popularly known as Bersih 2. She speaks about her experiences in the days leading up to, and after, the 9 July rally and the significance of the rally for electoral reform in Malaysia.
