Melbourne Law School graduates enjoy an excellent reputation and are widely recruited in Australia and across the globe. International London law firms such as Linklaters, Herbert Smith and Clifford Chance regularly visit the Law School to interview high performing students for their graduate programs. The annual Hong Kong Law Fair takes place here every year and approximately 15 international firms from Hong Kong visit us to promote their opportunities and interview our students.

The Melbourne JD is a very versatile qualification that is well-regarded by a huge range of employers.  It is important to note that employers of our law graduates are not just law firms – they are also management consulting companies, financial institutions, NGOs, aid organisations and government departments such as the Department of Foreign Affairs and Trade, to name just a few.

Your Melbourne JD can be used as a stepping stone into merchant banking, industrial relations, human rights, journalism and the media.  Corporations, statutory authorities and the public service also recruit law graduates directly into their management training programs.
