Canadian legal material on LexisNexis AU

We have recently subscribed to a number of Canadian resources on the LexisNexis AU platform. New acquistions include: 

  • Halsbury's Laws of Canada - an encycolopaedic resource and a good starting point for any research involving Canadian law. 
  • Canadian Legal Words and Phrases - contains over 13,000 words and phrases judicially defined in Canadian court and tribunal decisions.
  • Canadian Case Summaries - summaries in English of Canadian and English court cases prepared.
  • QuickCite - Canadian case and legislation citator.

To access any of the above titles, go to LexisNexis AU, select the Source Directory tab and enter the name of the resource you are looking for (eg. Halsbury's Laws of Canada). LexisNexis AU is a subscription based service, accessible to University of Melbourne staff and students.

ICLR (Incorporated Council of Law Reporting)

ICLR contains law reports of the judicial decisions of the Superior and Appellate Courts in England and Wales. This is a subscription based service, accessible to University of Melbourne staff and students.

Investor-State Law Guide

The Investor-State Law Guide (ISLG) is a key research portal on investment treaty law. ISLG includes dispute documents, treaties, rules and agreements. The databases includes documents from the International Centre for Settlement of Investment Disputes (ICSID), the North American Free Trade Agreement (NAFTA) and ad hoc tribunal decisions. This is a subscription based service, accessible to University of Melbourne staff and students.

JADE (Judgments and Decisions Enhanced)

Jade (Judgments and Decisions Enhanced) is a free current awareness service that collects recent decisions of selected Australian Courts and Tribunals.  JADE can be used to search for Australian decisions, receive alerts on new decisions by email, and court digests by RSS. Jade has digitised copies of the Commonwealth Law Reports (CLRs) from 1903-1952. Jade is a BarNet initiative.
