Question (#27): Do the computers inside the PC Labs have CD/DVD burners?
|
| Answer: No. There are several computers that have DVD-ROM access but most have CD-ROM access only. |

Question (#26): Can I request for software to be installed?
|
| Answer: Any request for the installation of software can be requested by sending an email to
law-labhelp@unimelb.edu.au. Requests are fulfilled on a case by case basis. |

Question (#25): Can I install software onto the Law PC Labs?
|
Answer: No. Students are prohibited from attempting to install illegal software or attempting to elevate user privileges for the installation of software on any of the computers within the Law PC Labs and Alan Katz Room.
Severe penalties apply including immediate suspension of all IT Access across campus. |

Question (#24): What does it mean when it says that I cannot log on 'interactively' when accessing the Law PC Labs?
|
Answer: This can occur if you have only recently set up your email account. Please allow 24 hours for the permissions on your account to be set up.
This message also occurs if you are not actively undertaking any law subjects, i.e students enrolled in Semester 2 Law subjects will not be granted access during Semester 1. |

Question (#22): How do I log on to the computers inside the PC Labs?

Answer:
Before you can log onto the computers, you will need to set up your email account at
http://accounts.unimelb.edu.au. Please allow 24 hours for your account to be processed before attempting to log on.
Note: Only students currently undertaking a law subject are granted access to the PC Labs. |
