General Information The School of Graduate Studies and the Information Division have a range of services and for Graduates, many of which are located in the 1888 Building on Grattan Street. Legal Research Tutorials and Individual Consultations A range of legal research classes are available to students. The Law Library Information Desk is your resource for one on one assistance. You can simply turn up and ask for help, call us on 03 8344 8913, or can email the Information Desk (law-library@ unimelb.edu.au). Saturdays at 2pm are also set aside for Graduate students who require extended consultation with a librarian. If you would like to arrange for an individual research consultation for any other time please contact the Information Desk. You can also consult our extensive range of Legal Research Guides and Pathfinders accessible from the Legal Research Menu of the Law Library Home Page Online Databases All students are able to use a wide range of databases both on campus and from home. The databases include popular local collections from LexisNexisAU and CCH, as well as the expansive full text coverage offered by Lexis and Westlaw. Inter-library loans Postgraduates can borrow books and get journal articles not held by the University via inter-library loan. If you have access to a firm or court library, you can arrange inter-library loans of University of Melbourne books through that library. Melbourne Monash Inter-Campus Loan Scheme This trial scheme enables Melbourne University academic staff and higher degree students to borrow from the Monash library. Find out more about the scheme, search the Monash catalogue or request a loan. Using other Victorian University libraries Refer to the item on CAVAL users in the General Library Guide, which relates to Victorian Institutions. Postgraduate Students in Remote Areas The Law Library can do limited online searches and copy documents on your behalf. |
