Legal Research Skills Consultations

The Law School's Legal Research Skills Adviser also offers student consultations. These consultations aim to help you develop the skills you need to conduct quality legal research.

How to arrange a consultation

Law Masters and Graduate Diploma students can arrange a consultation through the Melbourne Law Masters Office on the 6th floor (ph: 8344 6190).

Or, arrange your consultation at the Law Library loans desk.

Type of Consultation

  • Standard Consultation: (1/2 hour): eg., for discussion of current research problems you are working on, assistance with preparing a research plan, and other general research quesitons.
  • Drop-in Consultation: (no booking required): for quick discussion about a matter you are working on. If the door is open, please feel free to come in.

Where to go for your consultation

Legal Research Skills consultations in the Law School are held in room 335 in the Legal Academic Skills centre. It's on the third floor of the Law Building, in the Law Library (to the right of the loans desk).
