How did you come about studying with Melbourne Law School?
Given an engineering background that led to an active involvement in construction disputes, I felt the need to nurture my skills further in this area. Upon research, I found Melbourne Law School to be the pioneer in Construction Law in Australia with a specialised program that ranks amongst the finest in the world.

Describe your experience of studying in the Melbourne Law Masters. What were the highlights?
Due to my non legal background, I was apprehensive that I would struggle during lectures withthe legal jargon. However, I found the subjects to be structured in such a way so as to ensure a smooth transition for people who have had no prior exposure to the discipline of law. I also found the Postgraduate Law Student Association (PLSA) to be a superb initiative as it conducted events on a regular basis and provided a platform for facilitating informal engagement.

Why did you choose to undertake the subjects you did?
In my line of work, I had to deal with construction disputes, claims and preparation of expert witness reports on a regular basis. A clear understanding therefore was an absolute necessity. As a result, I enrolled in subjects that would further add to my existing knowledge in these areas.

What networking opportunities has the Melbourne Law Masters provided you with?
The guest lecturers that are invited during the course are often leading practitioners in their area which greatly adds value in terms of practicality. Overall, the course provided ample opportunities to meet and engage with students and practitioners from within the same industry.

How did you find our:

Teaching staff: The teaching staff was extremely helpful and continued to provide assistance even after the completion of the course.

Facilities: The law school has top notch facilities for students especially the library. The extensive databases greatly enrich the learning experience.

The city of Melbourne: The city of Melbourne is known for its multiculturalism. It is such a vibrant city that one feels instantly at home!
