Mark Weinberg 1984 - 1986
Mark Weinberg received his BA and LLB with Honours from Monash University, and a BCL from the University of Oxford. Appointed to the staff of the Law School in 1975, he was deputy dean and acting dean before serving as dean of Law in 1984-6.
In 1986 he resigned from the University to take up full-time practice as a barrister. He was appointed Queen’s Counsel in 1986 and from 1988 until 1991 he held the position of Commonwealth Director of Public Prosecutions. In 1998 he became a Judge of the Federal Court of Australia, and he has since held concurrent appointments as Chief Justice of the Supreme Court of Norfolk Island, Additional Judge of the Supreme Court of the Australian Capital Territory, and Non-resident Judge of the Supreme Court of Fiji.
