Andrew Kenyon is Professor of Law and a Director of the Centre for Media and Communications Law in the Melbourne Law School. He researches in comparative media law, including defamation, privacy, free speech, journalism, copyright and media policy. As well as legal doctrine, this research examines social and cultural aspects of law. Between 1999 and 2012 he edited the Media & Arts Law Review (with colleagues from 2009-2012). He has also been a Network Participant in the Australian Research Council Cultural Research Network, and is a former president of the Law and Society Association of Australia and New Zealand. He has law degrees from the universities of Melbourne and London, and his memberships include the International Communications Association, the European Communication Research and Education Association, and the Socio-Legal Studies Association.
