Andrew Stewart is John Bray Professor of Law at the University of Adelaide. An Oxford law graduate, his previous positions include being Dean of Law at Flinders University, Convenor of the Committee of Australian Law Deans and President of the Australasian Law Teachers Association. In November 2009 he was elected President of the Australian Labour Law Association.
One of Australia’s leading experts in workplace relations and employment law, his many publications include the leading texts Labour Law (co-authored with Breen Creighton) and Stewart’s Guide to Employment Law, as well as numerous articles for Australian and international journals.
 
Besides working for the law firm Piper Alderman as a consultant, Andrew has provided expert advice to the International Labour Organisation, to federal and State governments in Australia, to the Auditor-General of South Australia and to a wide range of other organisations. He has played a prominent role in the public debate over workplace reforms, and has spoken and written widely about their implications for businesses, workers and unions. Andrew's recent projects include advising the federal government on the drafting and structure of its Fair Work legislation.
