Elizabeth Charpentier (née Lowen) graduated Bachelor of Laws with Honours from the Melbourne Law School in 2002.  Prior to that, Elizabeth had commenced a combined BA / LLB degree at Monash University, where she graduated her Bachelor of Arts (Specialization Italian).  Elizabeth commenced Articles of Clerkship at Allens Arthur Robinson, in 2002, in the Corporate and Commercial department under the guidance of Graeme Johnson, then Partner.  Elizabeth was admitted to practice in April 2003.  During 2004, Elizabeth undertook a three month secondment to the Australian Grand Prix Corporation, including working at the 2004 Cinzano Australian Motorcycle Grand Prix. In September 2005, Elizabeth commenced employment with the Melbourne 2006 Commonwealth Games Corporation as Legal Counsel, at a very exciting time.  From June 2006, after the Games, Elizabeth spent a year working as a Corporate Solicitor with the Linfox Logistics Group before securing her current role as Legal Counsel with the Australian Grand Prix Corporation, in July 2007.  Elizabeth’s work with the Australian Grand Prix Corporation includes drafting sponsorship, commercial and operational agreements, managing intellectual property issues and assets (including brand protection and anti-counterfeiting initiatives), and approving marketing collateral and terms and conditions for the staging of the annual FORMULA 1 AUSTRALIAN GRAND PRIX as well as the annual Australian Motorcycle Grand Prix events in Victoria.
