John Lowe is the George W. Hutchison Professor of Energy Law at Southern Methodist University (SMU) and Senior Associate Dean for Academic Affairs at SMU’s Dedman Law School. He wrote Oil and Gas Law in a Nutshell and co-authored Cases and Materials on Oil and Gas Law; Hemingway on Oil and Gas Law and Taxation; and International Petroleum Transactions.
He has served as President of the Rocky Mountain Mineral Law Foundation and Chair of the American Bar Association’s Section of Environment, Energy and Resources Law section. He is an arbitrator for the American Arbitration Association, the CPR Center for Dispute Resolution and the International Chamber of Commerce, as well as Department of Commerce.
