Michael Bridge is Cassel Professor of Commercial Law at the London School of Economics.

Formerly, he occupied chairs in law at University College London, the University of Nottingham and McGill University. He teaches in the areas of commercial law, secured credit, conflict of laws and international sales. He has taught at many universities in Europe, Canada, United States, Australia and New Zealand.

He has published widely on international sale of goods, sale of goods, conflict of laws, personal property security, personal property, secured credit, insolvency law, contract and comparative law. He has advised a number of law reform bodies worldwide and is a member of the Convention of International Sale of Goods (CISG) Advisory Council. He was a member of the former Lando Commission on European Contract Law, the Trento Common Core of European Law and the Study Group on a European Civil Code programmes.
