Pierre Legrand is Director of the postgraduate program in comparative legal studies at the Sorbonne.
He has taught and lectured extensively in the United States, Canada, China, Brazil and throughout Europe. His recent publications include a co-edited collection Comparative Legal Studies: Traditions and Transitions; edited collections Comparer les droits, résolument and Derrida and Law; a co-authored book Introduction au common law; and authored books Fragments on Law-As-Culture and Le droit comparé (3rd ed.).
He teaches and writes in comparative legal studies with reference to theoretical issues arising from comparative interventions. He is a graduate of the University of Oxford, where he was a Rhodes Scholar, and the Sorbonne.
