Melissa is a Research Fellow at the Melbourne Law School, the University of Melbourne. She is working with Professor Carolyn Evans on her ARC Discovery Grant on 'Religious Autonomy and the Restriction of Rights or Freedoms by Religious Communities: Comparative and Theoretical Approaches'.

 

Melissa's PhD focused on ‘Opposition to Christian Proselytisation in Democratic Indonesia: Legal Disputes Between Muslims and Christians in West Java (1998-2009)’. She has published in several internationally refereed journals, including the Asian Journal of Comparative Law, the Review of Indonesian and Malaysian Affairs, Asian Studies Review and the Singapore Journal of Legal Studies.

She is also an Editor of the Australian Journal of Asian Law.

 

Melissa is currently teaching Administrative Law in the JD program at the Melbourne Law School.
