Melbourne Law School named in world Top 10
|
Melbourne Law School has been ranked as the highest law school in Australia and ninth highest in the world by the Quacquarelli Symonds (QS) World University Rankings, released in London overnight.
The QS World University Rankings evaluate graduate education and are the first to rank universities at individual subject level in the world. The QS Rankings use a methodology tailored to fit each subject, with rankings based on Academic Reputation, Employer Reputation and Citations per Paper.
This top ranking follows Melbourne Law School’s ranking of “well above world standard” for research earlier this year by the Australian Research Council - one of only two universities in Australia to receive the highest ranking for law.
Melbourne Law School Dean, Professor Carolyn Evans said that these successes were the result of the commitment and hard work of many people across the School.
The rankings demonstrate that Melbourne Law School is performing at the highest international level and can justifiably claim to be one of the world’s leading law schools', said Professor Evans.
'These results reflect the respect that both the academic community and employers have for the quality of our staff and students. To see Melbourne ranked in the top ten law schools in the world, alongside institutions such as Harvard, Oxford and Yale is a wonderful recognition of our international standing.
