Melbourne Law School Awards Ceremony

May 23, 2012

Over 100 Melbourne Law School students received prizes and scholarships at the annual awards ceremony held at the University of Melbourne on the 16 May.

Family, friends and award sponsors gathered in Wilson Hall, the ceremonial heart of the university, to recognise and applaud the award-winning students.

Professor Carolyn Evans, Dean of Melbourne Law School, congratulated the students on their outstanding achievements, observing that it was “no small feat to perform so well in a law school where so much value is placed on academic excellence”.

The Law School’s first Judge in Residence, the Hon. Michael Black AC QC, presented the guest address, providing insights into his own distinguished career in the law and on the bench.

The awards recognised academic success in 2011, and were made possible by the generous support of sponsors, many of whom were present on the night to personally present prizes to students.

Students, sponsors and guests enjoyed the new larger venue for the awards, made necessary due to the growth of the ceremony over the years.

Melbourne Law School congratulates all the award-winning students on their success and wishes them all the best for an equally rewarding 2012.
